Vrinda Bhagwat is the founder, director, choreographer & principal teacher of Disha Arts Academy. She is trained in Kathak dance style by renowned Kathak dancer Shri Pratap Pawar, who is the first disciple of Pandit Birju Maharaj.  Vrinda’s love for dance has inspired her to establish the academy focusing on Kathak. Her choreography and progressive teaching methods are admired and sought after by renowned cultural personalities. Today, Vrinda has produced professional level dancers, who have a training of 10 years and more. She has choreographed outstanding solo and group dance performances for the Academy. Additionally, Vrinda is a full-fledged Bharatnatyam dancer trained under Ms. Vasanthi Srinivasan of Natyanjali school of Bharatnatyam, and performed her Arangetram at National Arts Center Theatre, in Ottawa. She also performed extensively as a soloist, as well as in company of Ms.Vasanthi Srinivasan. While Vrinda has been exposed to the different types of classical dance styles of India her love for Hindustani Music (North Indian) and the naturalness of the Kathak dance style was the deciding factor to train herself in Kathak and establish the dance school.
